This information is provided to help you in planning your group visit. We ask that all groups of 10 or more complete a Tour Reservation Form to ensure a pleasant visit, whether the group requests a docent guide or plans to visit the Nerman Museum independently (self-guided tour).
Free guided tours are led by docent volunteers who have completed a comprehensive training program through the museum. Informative, interactive art appreciation tours are designed to facilitate understanding of contemporary art in our exhibitions and in the permanent collection on view throughout campus. Tours are available for college classes, community groups and school groups with 5-50 individuals, starting with kindergarten.
Tours are 1-hour long and cover approximately 10 works of art. The following thematic tours will be offered throughout the year:
- Introduction to Contemporary Art: this tour includes art in a range of media.
- Contemporary American Indian Art
- Art on Campus Media Focus Areas:
- Works on Paper
- Museum exhibitions: schedule TBA
- Our staff will gladly work with educators to develop customized thematic tours with at least 4 weeks advanced notice.
Guided tours will be offered by reservation only on Tuesdays, Thursdays, Fridays, or Saturdays between 10 am and 4 pm pending docent availability, excluding days the college is closed. See Policies and Regulations (left sidebar) for information regarding group size and chaperone guidelines.
