This information is provided to help you in planning your group visit. We ask that all groups of 10 or more complete a Tour Reservation Form to ensure a pleasant visit, whether the group requests a docent guide or plans to visit the Nerman Museum independently (self-guided tour).
The Day of the Tour
Please try to arrive on time: docents are on campus by appointment only, they are asked to arrive 15 minutes prior to scheduled tour time, and they are required to wait no longer than 15 minutes after the scheduled time for visitors to arrive to begin the tour. Groups will meet docents in the Museum lobby near the Information Desk. Folding camp stools, pencils, and clipboards are available for classes and tour groups by request. Visitors may leave personal belongings inside the coat storage areas during a tour, although JCCC cannot be held responsible for theft.
Parking and Buses
Enter campus using the entrance on Quivira Road immediately south of College Boulevard. Buses may drop off visitors at the museum’s driveway and park in any open lot on campus or at the shopping center across the street. Buses may pick up visitors at the same location. If driving individually, please allow at least 15 minutes for parking; parking is free. The Museum has limited designated parking, and there is a parking garage near the Carlsen Center, a garage adjacent to the Regnier Center, and a garage on the south side of campus.
Lunch
The campus has many outdoor locations suitable for picnic lunches. If your tour group is interested in having lunch in the museum at Café Tempo, café management (ext. 4990) can answer any questions you have regarding that component of your visit. Café Tempo is open 7 am to 2 pm Monday-Friday (7 am-10 am breakfast, then 10:30 am-2 pm lunch, and 7 am-2 pm coffee, pastries, desserts) with catering options evenings and weekends.
