Teacher Summer Institute: Contemporary Creations
An exciting new professional development opportunity for K-12 teachers!

Join fellow K-12 educators at Kemper Museum of Contemporary Art, The Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art, and the Nerman Museum of Contemporary Art for the Teacher Summer Institute: Contemporary Connections, an immersive, interactive experience that brings fresh energy to your teaching practice.
Across this two-day institute, you’ll dive into engaging teaching strategies alongside creative maker activities you can immediately bring back to your classroom. Collaborate with peers, experiment with new ideas, and explore how contemporary art can spark meaningful connections for your students. Registration deadline: Monday, July 27, 2026, 9 a.m.
Give yourself the reset you deserve before the school year begins. Unplug, recharge, and return with renewed creativity and purpose. You’ll discover powerful ways contemporary art can reflect students lived experiences while supporting social and emotional learning.
Participants will earn one Continuing Education Unit (CEU) through Johnson County Community College. Parking passes will be provided.
Come curious. Leave inspired.
