Join the Midwest Trust Center and the Nerman Museum of Contemporary Art for the 2026 Light Up the Lawn Concert Series. Mark your calendars for August 21 when we welcome Katy Guillen & The Drive for some of the best live music Kansas City has to offer.

Katy Guillen & The Drive’s sophomore album “Make That Sound” has been making big waves in the indie music scene since its release last fall. Glide Magazine describes it as “a relentless rock vibe,” and Rainbow Rodeo declared, “It’s raw, it's tight, and it's utterly compelling.”

This indie roots rock band from Kansas City, founded by partners Katy Guillen (vocals, guitar) and Stephanie Williams (drums), prides itself on fostering empowered spaces for women in music both onstage and off. “Make That Sound” is the follow-up to the band’s 2022 debut album “Another One Gained,” which “hit the sweet spot with a mix of spiky garage rock and soulful country torch songs,” lauded Uncut Magazine.

Rock out to some of the best live music Kansas City has to offer at this FREE concert on the Nerman Museum lawn. Bring your blankets, lawn chairs, and picnic baskets (no alcohol), and get ready for an amazing night! No reservations required.
