To Honor the Unidentified · Gina Adams
Following the critical and popular success of the Nerman Museum’s recent exhibition of its estimable contemporary American Indian art collection, the Nerman will present installations by Gina Adams and Natalie Ball within three of the museum’s second-floor galleries.
Adams’ McCaffree Gallery installation To Honor the Unidentified features 19 ceramic basketballs relating to the 7 treaty quilts on display in the Cohen Gallery, and 7 hanging Basketball Assimilation Banners. The walls are lined with 7 encaustic embedded photographs of the treaty signing chiefs.
